On Friday, November 4, 2016 before a full house of guests, the cultural non-profits, AKTINA Productions, Inc., and CYPRECO Of America, Inc., co-presnted the Great Rembetika of Greece (Greek blues), during AKTINA's Greek Music Journey concert series produced by Elena Maroulleti at the Kaye Playhouse theater in Manhattan. The concert with Babis Tsertos and his band revived the different representative eras of the rembetiko. The report which first aired on AKTINA TV on WNYE Ch. 25 also includes 8 full songs, reactions from the audience, interview with Babis Tsertos and highlights from the brief ceremony honoring Tsertos with AKTINA's Distinguished Artist Award. The Babis Tsertos band was comprised by Kyriakos Gkouventas, violin/baglama, Ifighenia Ioannou, kanonaki/vocals, Ioannis Tsertos, piano/accordion, Dimitris Reppas, bouzouki/guitar/vocals and Kostas Tsekouras.
