JWST Broke Our Understanding About the Universe | Dr. Michio Kaku

According to an article on Scientific American, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has found galaxies with billions of solar masses, comparable in weight to the Milky Way, from just an estimated 750 million years after the big bang. These galaxies are 10 to 100 times bigger than galaxies previously seen in this era and are packed into structures 30 times smaller than the Milky Way. Researchers found two exceptionally bright galaxies in the GLASS-JWST images, which existed approximately 450 and 350 million years after the big bang.

Astronomers said data obtained by the telescope reveals what appear to be six big galaxies as mature as our Milky Way existing about 540 million to 770 million years after the explosive Big Bang that kicked off the universe 13.8 billion years ago.
