Electrical and electronic engineers are trained in both the areas of electrical and electronic engineering, with the ability to integrate methods and technologies across disciplines. On the electrical side, the electrical and electronic engineer is trained in the generation, management, distribution, design, manufacturing, application and maintenance of electrical and power generation systems. The programme at the NWU distinguishes itself with a specific focus on the effects of renewable generation on the quality of supply, network stability, and network protection. On the electronic side, the electrical and electronic engineer is trained in control and instrumentation in support of the electrical industry.
