The European Commission issued the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS) in October 2020, announcing a REACH revision. It is part of the EU’s Zero Pollution ambition, which is a key commitment of the European Green Deal. REACH Revision is aimed to be targeted to achieving the objectives of the CSS. Key objectives in this regard are:

- To simplify procedures to assess the risks of chemicals
- To ban the most harmful chemicals in consumer products and for professional use unless they are essential for society;
- And to limit exposure to chemicals that harm hormonal systems and to toxic combination effects of chemicals.
