To turn off messages from randoms and spam on your Xbox Series X/S, you can follow these steps:
Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Select Profile & system - Settings - Account - Privacy & online safety - Message safety.
Adjust your messaging filters by using the info in each section to configure your ideal Xbox experience.
If you want to block messages from people not on your friends list, you can go to account.xbox.com/Settings and change Communicate with voice and text to Friends only.
