The Power over Ethernet is limited to 100 meters (328ft). In this video, we introduce three typical methods to extend the PoE beyond 100 meters. The VLAN or CCTV mode is a cost-effective one, but it needs to compromise the bandwidth. All the POE ports will downgrade to 10Mbps after you enable the CCTV mode. The bandwidth could be not enough for 2K or 4K IP camera. The PoE Extender can repeat the POE network without compromising the bandwidth. One PoE extender can repeat another 100 meters. You can daisy chain two units to have 300 meters. The last solution is long-range PoE. It can achieve 500 meters of power over Ethernet with continous running. Just one more, all those PoE extensions don’t work with passive PoE such as 24VDC PoE. Both ends must be PoE Compatible products like PoE camera, PoE access point, PoE VoIP.
