For Thanksgiving we made a "clone correct" German stick hand grenade, commonly known as a potato masher grenade. We discovered that it really doesn't do a great job of mashing potatoes. Sean was tasked with bringing Mashed Potatoes to his family's Thanksgiving and needed a quick and easy way to mash them taters. After a few repeated tries, he finally gave up and decided to ignite the grenade and mash them Ordnance Lab style: with explosives.
The stick grenade, or Stielhandgranate, has a whopping 170 grams of explosive which causes a massive explosion. Normally armed with a 4 second fuse which we find a bit short. We made a few with clone correct 4 second fuses, but decide a longer fuse is just way more safe. So we improved the design with a 20 second fuse simply for our use.
