You must be busy with the faral preparation for Gauri. Here is one unique recipe for you, mathari roll. These turn out nice, and crispy. These look nice and taste just awesome. You can make these as tea time snack on some other days too. We already have seen different types of ladoo, chakali, chivada, burfi recipes for Gauri. Ingredients:
• 2 cups Maida
• Salt to taste
• 1/4 tsp Ajwain / Carom seeds
• 3 tsp hot Oil
• 1/2 cup + 1~2 tsp Water
• Oil for frying
• Red chili powder
• 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
• Black salt
Method:
• In a dish take maida, salt, ajwain, hot oil and mix well.
• You can use wheat flour in place of maida.
• Add a little water at a time and knead stiff dough.
• Transfer the dough into a bowl and spread a little oil on it.
• Cover and rest the dough for about 30-45 minutes.
• Take the dough and knead it to make smooth and even.
• Take small portion of the dough and make it smooth and even.
• Roll it into as thin chapatti as possible.
• Cut it into 16 equal parts and take one of it.
• Lift the broad end and roll it carefully.
• Spread a little water at along the end and seal it well.
• Press it a little carefully so that those won’t open up while frying.
• Heat up oil on low to medium heat in a pan.
• Drop mathari roll into hot oil and fry well on low to medium heat until these get nice golden
color from all sides.
• When mathari is fried well take it out, drain excess oil and transfer into a dish.
• Take red chili powder, cumin powder, black salt in a bowl and mix well.
• Sprinkle the masala on the mathari rolls and toss them well.
• Mathari rolls are all ready.
• You can store them in an airtight container for about a month.
