Turning to some political news now... A months-long political discord in Afghanistan has been settled... with a new president finally named.
Former finance minister Ashraf Ghani was declared the country′s president-elect on Sunday by the country′s Election Commission... but only after he agreed to form a unity government.
A deal signed in Kabul by both presidential contenders would allow runner-up Abdullah Abdullah to nominate a CEO with authorities similar to those of a prime minister.
Both sides had accused the other of election fraud following a run-off vote in June.
