The Whole Love makes sense in the context of Wilco's career-- in fact, it almost makes too much sense. While this band is very good at what they do, they're still playing it quite safe, as though they're content to simply put out similar albums until the day they call it quits. Still, if you're a fan, it's doubtful that you'll find this to be much of a disappointment.

Verdict: Another worthy addition to the Wilco discography, but not a very forward-thinking effort.
