On 21 April, we held another in our Sustainability Series events which is a collaboration with the Chamber’s strategic partner Singapore American School (SAS) which is also the exclusive event sponsor for this series. The series focuses on two key pillars of sustainability - people and planet. This time we put the spotlight on food sustainability. We were delighted to have three expert speakers share with us what they do to achieve positive impact for our community, for themselves and for our planet.
The webinar started with a keynote address by Mr. Nicholas Ng, Co-Founder, The Food Bank Singapore. Nicholas shared the extent of the food waste problem in Singapore and what we can all do to change consumer behaviour to minimise food wastage and to also help people in need. This was followed by an insightful sharing by Mr. Simon Thomas, Director of Facilities and Services, Singapore American School and student representative Ms. Kyra Ramesh Krishna about SAS’s food waste journey, how they achieve change and what they plan to do next.
The Chamber thanks Nicholas, Simon and Kyra for their time and for sharing their experiences and knowledge. We would also like to thank the audience for its engaging participation and collaborative focus.
