I took Brady to the vet on Friday to check progress on his eye injury (he has a corneal abrasion to his left eye, likely from playing at the park). Fortunately it has decreased in size after 10 days of using special eye drops, which means we may not need to see an eye specialist for further treatment after all as long as he continues to improve. I was so happy to hear this. However…
He woke up this morning (3 days after seeing the vet in this video) and his eye was swollen shut again unfortunately 😔. I’m not sure what happened. He may have scratched at it while he was sleeping, or, maybe not. I’ve been reading a lot about these injuries and it’s fairly common for eye injuries to improve, then decline for no apparent reason. I’ll be taking him in to the vet again this afternoon.
Given recent events it’s likely we’ll need to see an eye specialist at the end of the month who will perform minimally invasive treatment (likely keratotomy or burr debridement) but I will keep you guys posted on our stories once we see the vet today.
I meant to share this video over the weekend and hoped it could be a celebratory post 😞 but we’ll get through this eventually. Taking it a day at a time. Send warm wishes for pigpig please! ❤️
