===ABSTRACT
In Making Sense of Spirituality (Hayes, 1984), the development of a sense of self as a perspective and its distinction from covert contents (e.g. private speech or emotions) was introduced as a way for promoting more effective behaviors. Helping someone to tact such a non-tangible sense of self requires the use of metaphors and exercises to be effective. This talk will cover how Greek philosophy and Buddhism could contribute to build self-as-context.
