Independent senator Lidia Thorpe interrupted a royal reception in Australia’s Parliament House on Monday, shouting at King Charles, “You are not our king” and “This is not your land.” The King, who had just finished his speech, was seated a few metres away.
Senator Thorpe stepped into the aisle and yelled, “You committed genocide against our people. Give us our land back, give us what you stole — our bones, our skulls, our babies, our people.”
She also demanded a treaty before being escorted out by security, shouting "F**k the colony" as she left.
