Days 4-5 south from San Francisco - from the lovely, secure anchorage of San Simeon, on to and around Points Arguello and Conception at midnight with several oil rigs to avoid....and on to Santa Cruz Island in the Californian Channel Islands, W of Los Angeles.
The weather was far calmer but, again, totally without wind - so motoring all the way - with that darned oil alarm waking up to sound for the rest of the journey (sorry for the awful audio in places!)
But our timing was good, arriving just as the sun was rising over the island, to anchor in an isolated, calm, well-protected bay in peace and quiet with just the occasional sound of a sea lion calling
