Are credit cards bad? Both yes and no. It really depends how you use them. Credit cards should be used to build credit and get discounts and perks. Credit cards should not be used for the actual credit (loan) as the rates are too high and it is easy to lose track of your balance. Those who are able to stay within a budget and can pay off their credit card early will benefit from a better credit score and the perks such as cash back or flight miles.
Those who cannot manage their budget and need credit should NOT get a credit card. In the long-run you will continue to pay more for everything as you are paying interest. It can be very easy to get into financial trouble as the balance on the card gets larger and larger and it seems like there is no way out.
These are my personal opinions and experience NOT financial advice to any specific individual or group.
