Recently, I have been hyping up Ignas Brazdeikis' recent emergence for the Magic for the sole reason that he was the only DTB-eligible Lithuanian player that was doing anything of note on the court. But now we can shove Brazdeikis to the side because there is a new Lithuanian in the NBA to idolize and adore: Deividas Sirvydis! Let's hype him up instead!
Sirvydis isn't exactly "new" to the NBA, since he's been on the Pistons' roster since the beginning of the season, but it's new that he has any appreciable impact on the basketball court. It's only in the last four games that he started receiving a decent amount of minutes, and it wasn't until this game that he managed to score in double figures. I will say, the stretch of scoring he had in the first half (which included a nifty euro-step as well as some very "confident" three-pointers) was quite entertaining, but he fizzled out in the second half, and then he banged knees with JaVale McGee and sat out the rest of the game.
As far as I can tell, my commitment to making highlight videos of Lithuanian players has not increased the level of donations to my Patreon. I have mostly given up hope that the people of Lithuania will express their appreciation of my work through monetary means. So now I make these videos of Lithuanian players simply to collect accolades from the Lithuanian citizenry, usually left in the form of text comments underneath my videos. I also make these videos on the off chance that a pretty Lithuanian woman will take note of me and fly to Wisconsin to become my wife.
