A viral video from Japan shows how easily germs and viruses could spread in restaurants when just one person is infected with a disease.
In the video, produced by the public broadcasting organization NHK in conjunction with health experts, fluorescent paint is applied on hands of a group of 10 people before they are taken to an area simulating a restaurant setting. Then each person acts as they normally would in a restaurant, eating from the buffet table, using utensils and eating around community tables.
At the end of the video, the people are cast under black lights, showing where the paint, signifying the virus in this experiment, has spread.
The traces of the paint can be seen on food, serving utensils and platters, and even on the faces of some of the participants.
