Jody Williams also went to the nearby village of Kumpari where she gave an artificial leg to a landmine victim.

SOT Williams: "I am standing right here, I'm not going any further and I'm not getting on my knees -- No, I will stand like this."

SOT Williams: "So anti-personnel land mines are not a deterrent that are stopping an invasion, any more than when President Bush took out tactical nukes. Those are a deterrent, now did the North invade immediately -- No. Now take out anti-personnel land mines, the North is not going to invade. It defies the imagination that one would believe that."

SOT Williams: "You probably know that when we started this campaign five years ago it was started because of people like you. I believe if we work together we will achieve on the humanitarian side what we achieved on the treaty side and we will clear the mines from the world and we will provide assistance to victims who have had to live in mine fields."
