A shocking new video is believed to show a massive explosion at a Ukrainian power plant after a Russian missile strike which plunged the region into darkness.
The video shows the blast at Kharkiv's CHPP-5 power plant, which is followed by a devastating shockwave that ripples out in all directions, rattling the house the person filming is standing in.
Other videos show strikes on several power stations, which collectively shut off power to almost one third of Ukraine.
The attacks struck the largest thermal power plants in eastern and central Ukraine - Kharkovskaya and Zmievskaya in Kharkiv region, leading to a lack of generating capacity, according to Russian sources.
The overnight strikes on the Ukrainian power grid and civilian infrastructure were seen as vicious retaliation for the massive losses of men, weapons and territory Putin's armed forces have suffered in the last week.
As well as strike on a key power plant in Kharkiv region, videos showed Kharkiv's underground train system at standstill. And flames were seen at a power plant in Vilnohirsk, Dnipropetrovsk region.
