The new-generation Suzuki Swift is labelled as a hybrid, but it's actually a mild-hybrid. It has a 12-volt lithium-ion battery system and an integrated starter generator, which can help it restart or help assist the engine at times.

What it all boils down to, though, is an amazingly low fuel use figure of 3.8L/100km for the manual and 4.0L/100km for the CVT auto - and you'll see in my review what I achieved across a mix of driving, too!

The pricing is low, and while it isn't as feature-rich as some other new comers, it really has a lot of brilliant user-friendly features, and none of those tedious annoying safety nannies to ruin the drive.

It's pure. It's playful. It's a pleasant thing. And I loved my time in it!
