Namaste and Happy Tihar! 🎉✨

Join us in Melbourne as we celebrate Tihar, one of the biggest and brightest festivals from Nepal, and Laxmi Puja with our family! As an international student living in Australia, it feels so special to bring a piece of home here. We decorated the house with traditional diyas and rangoli, performed the Laxmi Puja to invite blessings and prosperity, and enjoyed some delicious Nepali sweets.

But this year, there’s a twist! Halloween and Tihar fell on the same day, and in true Aussie style, trick-or-treaters were out in full force! 🕯️🎃 We had kids dressed up in spooky costumes knocking at our door while we were celebrating Laxmi Puja. It was a unique mix of cultures as we balanced the traditions of Tihar with the Halloween fun!

Watch as we share our evening filled with laughter, prayers, and a bit of Halloween spookiness in between. It’s a beautiful blend of Nepali and Western traditions that made this Tihar one to remember!
