Broad support from MPs as they begin debating the Budget laid out last week by Finance Minister Lawrence Wong. Most welcomed efforts to offset the impact of the GST hike and increased support for workers to upskill. The debate will continue for the next two days, with a total of 50 MPs slated to speak. Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh said the Workers' Party supports this year's Budget, but cautioned against creating a divide between the wealthy and the lower and middle classes.
