Moed Katan or Moed Qatan means little festival. It is the eleventh tractate of Seder Moed of the Mishnah and the Talmud. It is concerned with the laws of the days between the first and last days of Passover and Sukkot (as both of these festivals are a week in length). These days are also known as "Chol HaMoed" days. Moed Katan also discusses the laws of Aveilus (Bereavement). Consisting of only three chapters, it has a Gemara ("Completion") from both Babylonian Talmud and the Jerusalem Talmud. This tractate is also called “Mashkin,” for the first word in the tractate. In the Babylonian Talmud, this tractate has 28 pages. מַסֶּכֶת מוֹעֵד קָטָן היא מסכת במשנה ובתלמוד העוסקת בדיני חול המועד ובדיני אבלות. דיני האבלות שבה הם מהדברים הבודדים המותרים ללימוד בתשעה באב.
כיון שרובה של המסכת עוסק בחולו של מועד, על מנת להבדיל את המסכת מהסדר כולו, נקראה המסכת "מועד קטן", אך רוב רבותינו הראשונים והגאונים קוראים למסכת בשם "משקין", וכך היא מכונה גם במדרש‏‏‏[1] - על פי המילה הראשונה של המסכת.
בתלמוד בבלי יש למסכת זו 28 דפים.
