Welcome to the twenty-eighth (ninth?) episode of Morrowind Modding Interviews, a new podcast-like series interviewing modders from around the community! Have you ever wanted to hear your favorite mod authors answer your questions in a semi-conversational interview setting? Now's your chance!
For this week's episode of Morrowind Modding Interviews, we're talking with NullCascade, the project lead on MWSE 2.1 (and the upcoming MWSE 2.2), as well as the author behind a number of amazingly useful little lua mods, like Sophisticated Save System, Easy Escort, Happy Harvesting, Sounds of Souls, and so on and so forth. During the course of this interview, we discuss quite a few things, including features for MWSE 2.2, the new UI elements that will soon be possible, things Greatness7 should be doing, OpenMW compatibility issues, and of course NullCascade's thoughts on the dangers of caffeine.
Due to missing a few user-submitted questions, the following interview questions are only answered here:
Q: "What's the future of the MW animation system? What new things will lua-mwse allow us to do with it?"
A: I can't speak too much of the animation system. A lot of work has been done by Hrnchmand to figure it out, and I plan on continuing his work. But I can't promise anything until after 2.1, or more likely 2.2.
Q: "Do you think a skyrim style shared mod configuration menu will be possible?"
A: Absolutely. The UI subsystems are well understood. A shared mod config menu is the project that I will create myself to ensure that I have all the features I want in 2.2, just like my Modathon mods helped solidify the feature set for 2.1.
