M&A integration: Day 1 for M&A integration is the Day we buy the company. We can get a little more detailed and specific around this, but that will do as a generalisation for a 3 minute video. The moment we buy a company we need to take control of it, so there are certain legal and bank things to review. Though I have a 800 line item checklist, here is a high level useful slide we can use with our board. Day 1 we will cover communications with all our employees, ours and those in the target. Also covering off all sales and marketing items (go-to-Market) like customer communications and account management. We look at suppliers communications too. If we are listed, then we also have pretty standard timings and process for communications. We need to know what we are going to do on Day 1 and what work, projects and planning is kicked off on Day 1. Another important point is leadership alignment which we may have started pre-deal, but needs to start Day 1 and often I put some meetings in the diary for executives.
