With an early finish from work already booked, it seemed rude not to brave the elements to catch several workings of interest. The info showed that an IEP, GBRf Class 47 on a unit drag and DRS 68, amongst the usual fare, were due in the early afternoon over a couple of hours.
The initial plan was to head to the bridge over Worting Junction, as it was hoped the weather would lift. Heading along the A303 it certainly looked that way but I dived off at Micheldever in case shelter would be needed. That proved to be a good idea as the rain came back with quite quickly! It was hoped the Gypsum would run with a Class 69, but it never turned up in the end and after 3 hours I headed home to the warm and dry!
