The Painters' Mark - A Latin Perspective
Produced by the Griffis Art Center, September 26, 2007
When you penetrate the world of Roberto Weiss you step into an incredible simplicity and spirituality that crystallizes from the different canvases that interweave the walls of his home and art studio. He uses limited amounts of colors, but tries to apply them in just the right quantity. His palette is reduced to a minimum, especially in his “Monk Series,” where color is used as a means but not as an end. He blends tradition with spontaneity in order to emancipate his ideas. (21 minutes)
The Painters’ Mark is an international cultural and educational program about the men and women who are the makers, shakers and creators in the art world. It is designed to stir the hearts and souls of our audience through the power and inspiration of artistic creativity. The Painters’ Mark is sponsored by the Griffis Art Center and the Latin Network for the Visual Arts.
