The October 2024 MAME release (0.271) has some pretty dramatic improvements to the emulation of Namco's System 23 board!

Time Crisis II now looks better than ever, and Crisis Zone, which used to hang after POST, now runs and can get in game.

Although it runs, you can't actually play - you can insert coins and start a new game, select an area, and even shoot the continue screen buttons, but during actual play the game seems to be operating the pedal and gun on its own, as if it were an attract mode demo play. So all you can do at the moment is start a game and watch it play itself (rather poorly, unfortunately).
