First Ever Electric BMW M3 - Introduction and Features

BMW has recently unveiled its updated Vision Neue Klasse EV concept car, which offers a glimpse of the upcoming all-electric 3 Series sedan. While BMW executives have been relatively tight-lipped about the first all-electric M-division performance variant, some details have emerged about the 2027 BMW M3 Neue Klasse EV.

Here what we know:

The 2027 BMW M3 Neue Klasse EV will be the first pure electric vehicle developed by BMW's M division, known for high-performance models.

It will be based on the Neue Klasse platform, codenamed "ZA0," which will also underpin the new 3 Series EV and an iX3 EV SUV, set to launch by 2026.

The Neue Klasse architecture is expected to offer substantial improvements over current BMW EV technology, including 30% more range, 30% faster charging, and 25% greater efficiency.

While the Neue Klasse architecture is capable of delivering up to 1,340 horsepower, the M3 EV is expected to start with around 700 horsepower in its base version, with higher-performance variants likely in the future.

BMW is introducing a highly-integrated software stack called "Heart of Joy" to improve powertrain processing, reducing delays and enhancing vehicle performance with quicker reaction times.

The next 3 Series is likely to be EV-only, including its M3 EV performance variant.

These details offer a glimpse into BMW's ambitious plans for its electric M division, promising a high-performance electric M3 with cutting-edge technology and significant improvements in range and charging speed.
