Yesterday, we were watching the Let's Find Out episode about falling objects when Sofi had a brilliant idea💡: Let's test our very own egg parachute!
A parachute is like a big umbrella that helps slow things down when they fall. When the egg parachute opens up, it catches the air and creates a big drag. This drag pushes up against the egg, slowing it down and making it land gently instead of splattering on the ground.
Think of it like a giant hug from the air! The bigger the parachute, the more drag it creates, and the slower the egg will fall. That's why big parachutes, like the ones skydivers use, can slow them down so much that they can land safely from airplanes.
So, when you're playing with your egg parachute, remember that it's like a magical shield that protects your egg from harm. Just like a superhero cape, it helps your egg soar through the air and land safely on the ground.
Unfortunately, the wind was too strong during our experiment, and the force of the air was greater than the weight of the egg, causing it to crash into the houses. Despite the rough trip, our egg incredibly survived! 😆
