On March 21, 1994, a nurse making the rounds found long time Baton Rouge resident and great-grandmother of three, Ann, 81 brutally stabbed to death in her apartment. Detectives were concerned by the lack of evidence at the crime scene. The killer was very careful to leave nothing behind with the exception of one bloody knife imprint on the carpet. Despite a reward offer and pleas for the public's help in identifying the killer, the case went cold.
For years, detectives remained haunted that whoever slashed and stabbed Ann to death still walked the streets and was capable of killing again. Five years later, on January 4, 1999, the nude mutilated body of Katherine, 30, was found at the end of a street under a 'dead end' sign in a rural area of East Baton Rouge Parish. The number of stab wounds and the viciousness with which she was attacked all indicated that the person who had done this was full of rage towards women. These were just two of the murders committed by the same man. Watch as more are revealed and how the police interrogated him for a confession.
Criminal Confessions delves into the psychological showdown that takes place inside actual police interrogation rooms and dissects what happens to yield a confession. Each episode takes viewers through a real homicide case.
