Francisco Cardoso, MD, PhD, FAAN, The Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and President of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS), comments on the updated guidelines on invasive therapies in the treatment of Parkinson's disease (PD) published by the European Academy of Neurology and the European section of the Movement Disorder Society. Although invasive treatments are usually initiated in specialized centers, the general neurologist should know the therapies and their place in the treatment pathway. Therefore, this updated guideline is a great tool to help to offer the best quality treatment to PD patients. This interview took place at the 2022 International Congress of Parkinson's disease and Movement Disorders in Madrid, Spain.
