A tragic suicide attack near Karachi's international airport on Sunday evening resulted in the deaths of two Chinese nationals and left one injured, according to China’s embassy in Pakistan. This incident highlights the rising violence against Chinese personnel and investments in the region. The explosion, which was powerful enough to be heard throughout the city, also injured at least seven others and set multiple vehicles ablaze.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility, stating that the attack targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers and investors departing from Jinnah International Airport. A senior Pakistani security official confirmed the nature of the attack and indicated that investigations into the bomber's background are ongoing.
