Today, I’ve got some big news—and maybe a little disappointment—for those of you hoping to see Madame Ping or The Capitano become playable in Natlan. Unfortunately, neither of them will be playable. In this video, I’ll explain why, and also discuss which new characters you can expect to see released next.

Let’s start with Madame Ping. For months, people have speculated that she might become playable based on a name shared in earlier leaks: Lan Yan. Many thought this was her playable name. But here’s the thing—Lan Yan isn’t Madame Ping. Lan Yan is actually a brand-new four-star character from Liyue with no connection to Madame Ping. As of now, there are no reliable leaks confirming Madame Ping’s playability in Natlan or any other region. It’s disappointing for those who were hoping to see her in action as a younger version of herself, but it seems like she’ll remain an NPC for now.

Now, let’s talk about Capitano. This one is a bit more surprising, considering how many people were sure he’d become playable in Natlan. Fans have pointed to a lot of evidence. Capitano isn’t portrayed as entirely evil and has even helped Natlan, which makes him a good candidate for a playable character. However, according to SeelieLeaks, there’s no data suggesting that Capitano will be playable during the Natlan arc.

This doesn’t mean he’ll never be playable—just not during Natlan. There’s even speculation that he might be released in Snezhnaya or during another storyline. For now, though, if you’ve been saving for Capitano in Natlan, you might want to hold off until we get more reliable information. Usually, each region introduces several highly anticipated characters. For example, in Fontaine, we got Furina, Neuvillette, and Arlecchino. But for Natlan, the only major anticipated character so far is Mavuika, the Pyro Archon. This feels a little underwhelming compared to previous regions, especially with no confirmed Capitano release. It’ll be interesting to see if HoYoverse adds more hype-worthy characters to Natlan’s lineup in future updates
