A public inquiry into the murders of seven newborns by nurse Lucy Letby at Chester's Countess of Chester Hospital has begun in Liverpool. Letby is serving a life sentence for the crimes.

The inquiry, led by Lady Justice Kathryn Thirlwall, aims to provide answers for the victims' families and investigate the hospital's response, systemic failures, and conduct of the NHS and its regulators.
