In fast-moving political developments in Bihar, Nitish Kumar on Tuesday resigned as Chief Minister of Bihar and submitted a support letter of 160 MLAs to Governor Phagu Chauhan. JD(U) president Nitish Kumar has split with ally BJP for the second time in eight years and said, “All MPs and MLAs are at a consensus that we should leave the BJP-led NDA coalition.” Before walking out of the alliance, a meeting of JD(U) MPs and MLAs was held at Nitish Kumar’s official residence, while a parallel meeting of the opposition RJD legislators was also convened by party leader Tejashwi Yadav at his mother Rabri Devi’s Circular Road bungalow in Patna.
