(6 Nov 1985) GS CAS USA/SPACE/WEST GERMANY: German astronaut Ernst Messerschmidt
06118513 and Dutch astronaut Wubbo Ockels, currently aboard the
1"VT+BVU American shuttle "Challenger", have requested another day in
orbit, via a satellite link to the German ground controllers.
The request was denied, but the crew were able to complete
experiments on weightlessness and observe Hurricane Juan as
it passed over Florida.
