We all know him as a rebellious jeweler, celebrated designer, and shameless ham.
But underneath his rock n’ roll exterior, Stephen Webster is also a teacher, a mentor, an advocate, and a loyal friend.
Always generous with his time and talent, Stephen’s commitment to the COUTURE community is unmatched.
In 2012 he launched Rock Vault, in conjunction with the British Fashion Council to support and showcase Britain's cutting edge fine jewelry talent. And since 2013, he has brought Rock Vault designers to COUTURE to exhibit within the Stephen Webster ballroom.
Rock Vault designers have gone to to launch successful careers and many have become award winners in their own right.
Stephen is fierce advocate for environmental and ethical standards and was recently awarded the Butterfly Mark powered by Positive Luxury for his commitment to sustainable practices.
He visited mines in Tanzania to support the efforts of the Tanzanite Foundation, which is working to make a difference in the lives of the mining communities there.
And he traveled to Peru as an Ambassador for Fairtrade Gold with the Dutch charity Solidaridad to discover why the prospect of Fairtrade certified gold is so transformative for miners and their families.
In addition to building his own eponymous brand, Stephen has participated in numerous collaborations with other iconic jewelry companies such as—Swarovski, Forevermark, Hearts On Fire—and even—the minions.
His collaborations go beyond the commercial realm to include work with charities such as Fashion For Relief, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, (RED), and Malaria No More.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Stephen climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the charity Standing Voice, which works to support people afflicted with albinism in Tanzania. He layered on clothes and hiking gear and raised more than $30,000 for the charity.
Then… he took it all off for the sake of the oceans, and a movement called Fish Love.
In 2013, Stephen was appointed a “Member of the Order of the British Empire” by Prince Charles in recognition of his craft and dedication to the British Jewelry industry.
The Stephen Webster team includes employees that have been with him for decades. His brother Dave and wife Assia also play key roles at the company, making it truly a family endeavor.
As Stephen shares his experience and expertise with the world, he continues to be a prolific and creative designer. Stephen Webster’s jewelry reflects the dichotomy that is Stephen himself, at once bold, edgy and daring, while at the same time, shimmering, playful and sublime.
COUTURE is proud to honor Stephen Webster with the Cindy Edelstein Award for his fearless leadership, enthusiastic attitude, dedicated mentorship and longstanding commitment to the COUTURE community.
