Just a quick video showing how I replaced the Rear Brake Pads & Rotors on a 2019 Mercedes Benz Sprinter Passenger Van with the Manual Parking Brake. This is the same for 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. It may be the same process for newer year models too. This is a RWD model with the 3.0L Diesel Engine. If you have the electronic parking brake, you will need different parts and the process is slightly different. The brake pad wear sensors were only on the front passenger side and rear driver side on this van. The parts that we used were from our local O'reilly Automotive and came with two sensors included.
The Torque Specs that I found online:
Caliper Bracket Bolts 59 ftlbs plus 45 degrees*
Caliper Slide Pin and slide pin bolt 25 ft. lbs
Please verify these specifications with your manual.
*The Manual says to replace the 2 carrier / caliper bracket bolts every time you change the brake pads, but I did not change them as you will see in the video. I had read this note below on the Sprinter-Source Forum when looking up the torque specs for this vehicle:
"I called 2 local socal mercedes parts depts and both confidently stated that they do not supply service with any bolts for a pad/rotor swap. They both said that they had the bolts to sell but to throw blue loctite on them and torque them back up."
Tools needed:
Small Prybar or Caliper Compression tool or C-clamp
6mm allen wrench
T-30 Torx bit
21mm Socket and/or breaker bar
Brake grease
Torque Wrench
Here's the link to the video for the Front Pads & Rotor Replacement on this same van:
