News Article :-
A USAF spokesperson has revealed a string of drone sightings over US Air Force bases in Suffolk UK, sparking security concerns.
This development comes on the heels of an American military alert about multiple "unidentified drones" observed over RAF installations, including one rumored to be a potential storage site for US nuclear weapons.
"I can confirm the situation is ongoing and our units continue to monitor the airspace and are working with host-nation authorities and mission partners to ensure the safety of base personnel, facilities, and assets," said a statement from the US Air Forces in Europe.
"To safeguard operational security, we do not discuss specific force protection measures, however we retain the right to protect our installations."
Confirming these encounters, the US Air Force (USAF) announced that drones of varying "size and configuration" have been seen at three RAF bases across Suffolk and Norfolk. During November 20-22, several "small unmanned aerial systems" were identified near RAF Lakenheith, RAF Middenhall, and RAF Feltwell.
These bases not only serve British air force operations but are also strategic locations for the USAF's Europe command's jets. The USAF spokesman underscored the inability to ascertain if the drones posed a threat, reports the Mirror.
