At the crux of the matter is the Indus River, which begins in India before crossing the Zero Line and entering Pakistan. Pakistan depends on the Indus River for agriculture, employment, and ultimately half of its GDP. With the Indus River supplying so much for each country, the indus river valley has become one of the most dangerous places on the face of the earth.

In 1960, India and Pakistan inked a tense agreement regarding use of the Indus River & the Indus River Valley, but dangerous population growth on both sides has led to increased strain on the river for power generation and drastic measures on the part of India to secure sufficient hydropower to prevent sudden power outages.
But one additional factor has created a "line in the sand" moment between the two countries -- and could transform a water war into a full-blown nuclear war...
