The "Remembering Iran's Revolution" series examines the days leading up to the Iranian revolution. Feb. 11th 1979, is commonly referred to in Persian as "22 Bahman." This date marks the day that the Shah's army declared neutrality, essentially guaranteeing the success of the revolution. Expatriate Iranians who were living in Iran at the time vividly recall those fateful days, which led eventually to rise of the Islamic Republic.
