Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791)
Franz Xaver Süssmayr (1766 - 1803)
Requiem Mass in D minor (K. 626)
After Mozart's death, at the request of his widow Constanze, most of the Requiem was completed by Süssmayr with the Introitus and only sketches of the other movements available. With this in mind, many modern musicologists and composers have composed their own completion citing evidence showing Süssmayr's edition does not adequately suit Mozart's style. This is the Süssmayr completion.
