Ok, having watched Supernatural 8x17 there was a line in there that just set off the "Wtf!? AWESOME!" alarm. It took might straight back to my other, much earlier obsession with a TV Series called "ROAR" starring Health Ledger, Vera Farmiga (and Sebastian Roche btw who played Balthazar on Supernatural *wink wink*). Particularly it brought to mind a scene from ROAR in which the dialogue almost mirrors a piece of dialogue from Supernatural 8x17.

Now... to make things funkier. In ROAR, love interest was always hinted at between Conor and Catlin. It was layered in everywhere but there was no real conclusion because the series ended abruptly after just 13 episodes (and really, it was an amazing TV Series but it was before its time) and because they had Conor having more outward interests in other female characters, always leaving Catlin on the sideline.

Anyway, we also know... this is kinda the same thing with Castiel and Dean in Supernatural (much in the same vein it was done with Xena and Gabrielle back in the day) where it is played with subtextually to tease shippers, spur glorious Destiel fic and also help keep the non-fans of the hinted at relationship, happy.

{{And I won't even go into how some of the things like Catlin's dead sister (who is possessiong her) is using guilt as a form of power over Catlin... to help her feel ok with letting her sister kill her and how Naomi is doing the same with Castiel... holding guilt over him as a form of power to get him to kill Dean and get her the tablet. I really could go on and on... }}

Imagine my sqqqqquuuuuuueeeee moment when two sets of dialogue between two hinted at shipping 'couples' in two completely different series, in two completely different decades (ROAR aired in the Summer of 1997) just all-of-a-sudden sound so alike that I instantly connected them. :D That's my squeeee face btw.

At any rate, I took the time to get these comparisons together mostly so I could show some of my peeps. But you are welcome to meditate on it too. lol

Who is it working on Supernatural is also a fan of ROAR? lol It's gotta be SOMEONE.
