The sacroiliac joint compression test is used to evaluate for causes of sacroiliac joint pain. The patient lays in the lateral decubitus position on the unaffected side. The examiner places their hands or elbow on the iliac crest and applies pressure towards the floor. This compresses the sacroiliac joint and results in anterior pressure on the sacrum. A positive test is pain or pressure.
