Some songs are able to guide you through difficult times as they can evoke memories and emotions whilst others can help shake off such feelings, pushing the difficult times to the back of your mind, even if for just a few minutes.
"Bad Idea" by Buck Roger & The Sidetrackers certainly belongs to the latter.
With its feel-good vibes about crazy ideas in the form of a contagiously happy sound with an uptempo swing rhythm and a catchy chorus, it's likely to be a hit and is wonderfully complemented by its music video.
Shot by Vincent Wild and Alexander Klein of Luminous Delusion, they have created a cinematic short film in which the protagonists make their very own, and somewhat criminal, "bad idea" a reality.
A full-on cock-and-bull story; fast-paced storytelling, special effects, attention to detail and a healthy dose of silliness - a combination that could well win prizes at a variety of film festivals.
The band appear as extras whilst Roland Schreglmann and Anuschka Tochtermann shine in their roles as the Bavarian Bonnie & Clyde.
Times are not particularly easy for independent bands and film producers right now but the optimism, strong will and palpable joy of everyone involved in the "Bad Idea" music video can't avoid raising one's hopes. Hope for the future of creative freelancers and even for a fresh summer hit!

Munich-based Buck Roger & The Sidetrackers - a group that merges a wide variety backgrounds, epitomising diversity. Sometimes more rock, swing, blues, folk and other times a nuanced mix of them all. The focus is always on having a good time in the world of music.
