Mechanical Fans place a parasitic drag on an engine, which causes a loss of horsepower....WHICH NOBODY WANTS! Installing electric fans fixes this issue!
On an episode of engine masters, they proved that removing the mechanical fan cause a 30 horsepower gain! The fans also help keep the engine operating temperature within a certain range.
In my opinion, this is one of the best upgrades you can do to your car, for the money!
