Tsunami-like waves sank hundreds of boats in a community on the coast of Peru on Friday, December 27. Hundreds of local fishermen lost their boats and fishing nets, essential to their daily work to feed their families. Waves over 5 meters high also flooded streets and affected nearby businesses, in addition to an oil spill that occurred in the area on December 20, causing heavy losses for fishermen.
