Hi all, if you missed Part 1 of touring this amazing property, I do recommend you go back and watch that first, but you definitely don't need to: this can stand alone too.
In this garden tour Tamara shares some of the amazing things she has accomplished in the last 9 years, for example, the plant losses she has had to endure in order to find plants that are happy in her blazing-sun-in-summer-zero-sun-in-winter, winter-saturated-clay-soil 'Berm Garden'. It is so thrilling to see the beauty of the garden now that she has found plants that work for the site, and it might be helpful for you, if you have a similar situation in your garden.
In the Shade Garden she faced similar challenges, finding plants that could compete with the thirsty roots of the Doug firs planted by the the last owner, and the patience she must have to wait for those plants to grow!
Can't neglect to mention the love that 'Facilities Manager' David Paulat has put into the property, and it is inspiring to see some of his whimsical touches, and his 'Pavilion', which brings me peace just to gaze upon.
I highly highly recommend checking out www.chickadeegardens.com. Tamara's blog is beautiful, and proof of her astounding photography skills are in this very video. She has done a fabulous job of sharing the journey of bringing Chickadee Gardens to such lush life. Laying out the garden, the trials, the successes, the favorite plants at their most beautiful....It is all so inspiring.
Thanks again to Tamara and David for having so much patience as the Over the Fence Film Crew dealt with our newest crew-member, who happens to be a sometimes-fussy baby. And thanks for letting Pepper roam around!
